Chief Manufacturing Officer
Mr. Yuk Chun Chiu has over 20 years of GMP manufacturing experience in both large pharmaceutical and CDMO environments. He currently serves as Wheeler’s Chief Manufacturing Officer with overall responsibilities for capital projects, manufacturing operations, facilities, engineering, data science, and supply chain.
Prior to joining Wheeler, he was the VP of Manufacturing at Cytovance Biologics in Oklahoma City and the Head of Manufacturing and Engineering at AstraZeneca in Redwood City, CA. At AstraZeneca, he directed the manufacturing activities for two commercial product launches and successfully led site performance transformation using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Before joining AstraZeneca, Yuk led the process analytics team at Bayer Pharmaceuticals in Berkeley, California, where he directed Process Analytical Technology projects for their commercial manufacturing operations. Yuk also spent 12 years working in various technical roles (PD, engineering, manufacturing) of increasing responsibility at GSK, Amgen, Dow Chemical, and Lonza.
Yuk holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and a master's in Pharmaceutical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
