Uwe Bucheler, PhD

Uwe Buecheler, has more than 25 years of experience in the Biopharma industry. He is Molecular Biologist by training (Heidelberg/Stuttgart) and started his career in industry as research fellow at Boehringer Mannheim (now Roche). He thereafter joint Boehringer Ingelheim where he held different positions in Biopharmaceuticals in CMC Development and Regulatory Affairs, Biopharma Operations, Biological Safety and Quality. He acted as Site head for the Boehringer Ingelheim site in Biberach, Germany and thereafter lead global Biopharmaceuticals Operations including sites in Germany, Austria, USA and China. In 2016 he took over the leadership of the Biopharma Business Unit responsible for the growing contract manufacturing business as well as ensuring supplies of Biopharmaceuticals to Boehringer Ingelheim Human Pharma. Since March 2022 he acts as a Senior Advisor Biopharmaceuticals and in that capacity, he supports Boehringer Ingelheim Venture Fund (BIVF) Portfolio companies in CMC development and supply of New Biological Modalities. Uwe is also Chairman of the Biopharma Cluster South Germany.
